HPC SPECTRA (High-Performance Computing Skills Platform and European Collaboration for Training) is an EU project dedicated to advancing HPC expertise across Europe. Our goal is to empower scientific and industrial research communities by providing a centralised hub for tailored training opportunities.
We aim to equip Europe’s research communities with the skills needed to effectively use supercomputers. To achieve this, we are collaborating with the CASTIEL 2 project to develop a training platform – an online hub that consolidates HPC training opportunities across Europe into a single, user-friendly database. This platform will be integrated into the HPC in Europe Portal. Additionally, we run the International HPC Summer School (IHPCSS) in 2024 and 2025 to educate top computational science students on advanced HPC and Big Data Analytics, foster networking, and enhance career prospects. Our four objectives are:

Creating a centralised platform that will offer easy access to high-quality HPC education and training opportunities.

Standardizing HPC training across Europe and ensuring a reliable and certifiable standard of HPC competencies.

Co-organising the International HPC Summer Schools in 2024 and 2025, fostering the development and collaboration of the next generation of HPC experts.

Covering a wide range of themes related to high-performance computing. Including educational and practical aspects of HPC, aiming to cater to a diverse audience from students to professionals in academia and industry.
