One goal of HPC SPECTRA is to develop an advanced European High-performance Computing (EuroHPC) Training Platform. And this platform has following features:
Centralised database of HPC training courses and events that promotes training opportunities
Lays the foundation for establishing a standardized EuroHPC skills framework, aimed at developing a pan-European HPC training and certification scheme.
Offers event management tools for training providers, such as registration for events, issuing attendance certificates, and contacting participants.
Features an Attendee Corner, where participants can access their related learning materials and receive personalized suggestions for follow-up or new training events based on their past career and personal interests.
To enable the guidance of attendees in the Attendee Corner, the Skill Tree can be used to show courses that include the ‘missing’ skills per attendee to have fully learned a set of skills. In short, the Skill Tree is designed to map and standardize HPC skills across courses. Continuously evolving to meet the demands of high-performance computing, it ensures globally recognized qualifications. Built on the HPC Certification Forum’s framework, each skill is a teachable unit that can be covered in one to four hours. The Skill Tree is central to aligning the Spectra project’s courses with industry standards. The structure of the teaching units is outlined below.
